A true story of the man that made the monopoly, the fighter for the free market, the All-American asshole. John D. Rockefeller is on full display in this retelling of his life, but will our historian and players be able to get through it with John himself trying to tell his own narrative? This BYOB show will have you learning some new things and shouting “Eat the rich!” louder than ever before.

John D. Rockefeller, America’s Patron Saint of Greed, gets the spotlight as five flexible players depict the corporate mogul’s entire life, from rags to riches to total inhumanity toward his fellow man. A little bit vaudeville, a pinch of burlesque, and a whole lot of costume changes ensue as we unspool the messy life of John Rockefeller and the advent of the type of businessmen that “built” America.

From writer and director Ryan Stevens (He/ They) with additional direction from Corn Productions Artistic Director Justin Oliver Lance (He/ Him), The Rockefeller Special gives a voice to the vocal in this tale of an old white man through a group of performers that do not check the box of “Old White Man”.

Featuring: Martina Logan (She/ Her) as John D. Rockefeller, Deanna DeMay (She/ Her) as the Historian, and Brooke Smith (She/ Her), Skylar Frishman (She/ They), and Corvyn Appleby (They/ Them) as our Players. With Sydney Hanson (She/ Her) as our Understudy and Fight Choreographer.

This show contains strong language, simulated violence, sexual suggestions, and capitalism.
